Radiohead LP7 (RIP)- Hello “In Rainbows”

Okay, in the best viral marketing move since lonelygirl15, Radiohead has amazed us all again with the earth shattering news of the digital release (October 10) of In Rainbows, their 7th album. As mentioned here on Saturday, wild cyber antics involving a cryptic countdown on a mysterious, unknown Radiohead website generated a firestorm of debate regarding its meaning. A new album? A hoax? What would go down on Saturday morning was the question on many minds. Then the website made its intentions known: A hoax indeed, leading the sheep to a youtube clip of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give you Up”. Meh.

So today, just as our myxamatosis had begun to undo itself, Radiohead has made us feel a bit Fitter, a bit Happier, than we had been yesterday. Bravo Thom (and crew), we’ve been waiting.

Pre-Order the Downloadable version and Disc Box versions here. Remember, downloads are available on October 10th and the Disc Box will be ready on December 3rd. Prices? For the Download…. You name the price and pay what you want ( a card processing charge may apply), the Disc Box (which includes rights to the Digital Download), 40 Euro. If you are a Yank, hurry and pay now, before the dollar goes to zero.

One Response to “Radiohead LP7 (RIP)- Hello “In Rainbows””

  1. Radiohead in my opinion is easily one of the top 5 bands of the last 15 years… that being said, I think they have gone into the deep end with their ambient style, hopefully they bring it back a little closer to home and balance the ambience with just a little bit of classic rock ‘n’ roll, like “The Bends” album. (just a tiny bit to balance out the ambience.)
